Knowing that climbing the mountains of CORDILLERA BLANCA
requires a previous acclimatization, we will begin the
route very quietly because of its ruling gradient which
makes things more difficult, and also for the reason
that people are carrying their luggage on their own.
We go up the moraine camp on a path marked by climbers
and adventures who often come and go. From this place

because it is very hot in the morning and also it is
quite dangerous where the hopper-chute begins to get
to col camp of ALPAMAYO, the weather on the mountains
of the Andes is always changing due to the equator line,
we must reach high camp very carefully in a 5 to 6 hour
journey approximately.
DAY
16.- SUMMIT DAY or rest with a quiet acclimatization.
Due to some difficulties in acclimatization, we will
begin next day to climb NEVADO ALPAMAYO. Being aware
of weather changes on these mountains, we may also change
our option to NEVADO QUITARAJU at 6036 meters over sea

FERRARY and some others along our way. Its technical
aspect to the 50 degrees “rimaya” covered
with recent snow makes the normal journey difficult,
the wall of 350 meters is 70 and 85 degrees in the back
part, we will ascend in abseiling modality and some
materials such as screws and stakes will be used every
50 meters, likewise, we will descend making rappels
every 60 meters. 8 to 9 hours journey depending on the
